The best food we had our entire stay was at the steak house. No taco truck or mojito truck open and most nights only ever 2 restaurants to choose from. The fire show was probably the best but be prepared if you stay longer than a week you’ll see the same thing the next! Back to the food by our 7th day restaurants that would say they were open were closed the buffet at breakfast was shocking no staff to make smoothies and other things they were offering at the start of the weeks and the selection of food choices were literally halved. The shows were ok but there was zero atmosphere. Following on with the entertainment it’s ok at best and nothing really happens past 10pm! Very much the same thing every night. There’s an adult side of this resort and also an actual adult resort next door! There was no regard to anyone staying in the other rooms as they we’re concerned and we spent 3 nights being woken up and subjected to fowl language and bad behaviour. This changed massively as the week progressed! The same food being put out for breakfast and lunch flies on the food even days where there was no aircon in the buffet and you could see the sweat dripping down the food! Once getting the original room I upgraded to 6155 swim out in the family side! (Great room no complaints on this room) After a couple of days the resort decided to place a large group of party goers all together in the section where there was another 2/3 families all with very young children! This was absolutely outrageous! Screaming in the corridors, swearing, doors open and throwing room parties late at night. Melia Internacional Varadero All InclusiveĪn honest review about the resort and my issues I faced with it! Firstly after arriving I upgraded our room via the official Facebook page weeks before arriving to a swim out (family side) as I have a child under 2! Was told this would cost an additional $900 (fine) Got to the resort where they had no confirmation of this conversation even taking place and told us they had allocated us a room in the adult side of the resort with a baby! But if we wanted to upgrade it would cost us $1500!!! Then $1200 then $1150 □ it was like negotiating with a market trader at the preferred check in! After arguing with this man for around 40 minutes over the price I had been quoted weeks ago I agreed to $940 □ but then told that there wasn’t a room available even though the resort was 40% occupancy! They sent us to our room in block 5 and it was soaking the floor was wet the bed sheets were soaking and the room smelt like mould and damp!!! I went back to reception and said about the room and they sent the cleaner □ I had asked for a dehumidifier as my mum has just had open heart surgery and I have a baby! I took towels off the maid and we all slept on towels!!! The next morning we went for breakfast at the buffet and the choice was good every station had someone working and you could get pretty much everything you wanted.
